We’ve all heard the expression, ‘Better you than me,’ right? Usually we make the comment to someone facing a situation we’d rather not be in. But what about, ‘Better me than you’?
Um? What does that mean? Well, I’ll tell you!
Jill Chapman’s company, Better Me Than You, is a logical extension of her background in sales and marketing for a billion-dollar global company. Her official job description is ‘Productivity and Organizing Professional’. To explain, Jill helps people and organizations bring order and efficiency to their lives in 3 areas: residential organizing (home organizing and decluttering), business productivity and event & meeting planning.
Better Me Than You
After spending several years traveling around the globe as an employee, Jill was ready for the next adventure to be closer to home (La Cañada Flintridge in Southern California). Living out of a suitcase generally makes a person become organized and efficient! When you know exactly where each item is packed, you’re less likely to leave your folding hair dryer in Brussels.
Most of us have a general idea of where our stuff is located. Or rather, where we last saw it. Maybe. And when it comes to organizing and culling, we say, ‘Better hang onto that pair of jeans. If I lose 10 pounds, I won’t have to buy a new pair.’ Or, ‘I know where every receipt is, in that stack of papers on the chair.’
The trouble is, we either have no clue how to go about getting organized, or the prospect is simply overwhelming. The same goes for event planning and honing our business productivity. We have an idea of what needs to be done, but the actual timeline is out there in the mist somewhere. Or there just isn’t time for it.
Jill to the rescue
The name of Jill’s company – Better Me Than You — means that you’ll be relieved to let Jill map out a strategy for you and carry out the maneuvers. It means that, in things organizational, she’s the recognized expert. It’s in your best interest to step back and let the professional do her thing.
‘I wanted a company that combined the things I enjoyed and was good at, in my business and personal life. Becoming a Productivity and Organizing Professional was a natural fit.’
The Boss Babe
Jill is now full time in her own business and loving every minute of it. How does an exec for a billion-dollar global company leave all of that to be a sole proprietor? Easy – she’s confident in her ideas and abilities. She relies on her resilience and happiness. Life throws curve balls and home runs, and one never knows which is coming. So, Jill always tries to learn, grow and see the bright side of most everything.
The first step in publicizing Better Me Than You was Jill’s Instagram page. Her official website is nearing completion and will be ready soon! In the area of La Cañada Flintridge, just up the 210 from Pasadena, keep an eye on https://www.bettermethanyou.net/.
Creating the Brand
“It was a very collaborative and invigorating process. While at first it was difficult to choose from the amazing initial options, once I made my final choice, the process was easy. I needed a brand that would relate to both businesses and individuals and I’m delighted that this was accomplished. I’m excited to launch my business with my new, professional branding!”
