Handmade Party Décor & Event Planning
Is your little’s 1st birthday rushing up on you like a cat after a squirrel? Any ideas besides the usual cake smash? No? We know how you feel. But if you live in the area around Norton, MA, you’re in luck! Just get hold of Ali Corndell at Craft Your Party. Problem solved.
Whatever theme you have in mind, Ali will create custom invitations, thank you cards, cardboard cut outs, party décor, props, banners, what have you. If you already have your invitations, Craft Your Party will match your theme, colors and even create new designs to coordinate.
Need help with planning? Ali is overflowing with super ideas and creativity, and here’s evidence. She planned, directed and starred in her own wedding, which was then featured on the front page of ModWeddings.
Invitations to a Shower, Birthday, Anniversary or Milestone Party
For 10 years, Ali was an elementary school classroom teacher, with all of the challenges to hold her active students’ interest. A crafter at heart, Ali came up with engaging, innovative lesson plans and activities designed to make learning fun. After her first daughter was born, and she settled into being a full time mom, Ali realized she had a knack for bringing event themes to life through crafting.
Ali went all out for her daughter’s 1st birthday celebration, with an Alice In Wonderland theme. Eventually the whole house was decorated with the Red Queen, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, everything! The celebration was so much fun for everyone, even the grownups. Her husband commented that he thought she should make it a business. Ali didn’t know if he was joking, but after some thought, she ran with it.
Now, a few short years later, Ali designs and creates unique and charming party décor pieces. The addition of a Cricut machine has helped to automate the cutting. Anyone who has used one after hours upon hours of scissor work can relate. Her 2 little daughters love to help, of course. Some larger things still have to be hand cut and hand painted, such as cow-sized cardboard cutouts.
When Ali designs invitations, she likes to think out of the box and make them more interactive than the usual. She wants to create an experience for clients when they open the cards. Look at the personalized circus wagon invite. The lion comes out of the wagon and all the party info is on the back.
Think of Branding and a Website as Your Invitation
I want my brand to scream unique, out of the box, personal, customized and professional.
The Autumn Lane design team made it all so easy, from start to finish! And discovering their premade website (who knew?) to coordinate with my elegant new logo was simply the best. It all came together so beautifully, thanks to Lily, Kate, Jeff and Beck.
I love your premade logo that is called “Polka Dot Logo”. And I love that it is fun but elegant, clean looking and chic. My color palette is more on the pastels side with ALL the touches of GOLD. I love gold everything! I am not a fan of bright neon colors. I like the look of shabby chic. I also love rose gold.
The look of the “Polka Dot Logo” is perfect for Craft Your Party, with the dots looking like confetti. I am striving to tailor to both the wedding, birthday party and shower event market. So I want my logo to be fun but at the same time not look like all I am concentrating is on kids birthdays. I want it to look elegant and chic, announcing that I am professional and tailored to weddings and other party planning services.
Enjoying the Party
When Ali launched Craft Your Party, her biggest challenge was the sheer number of competitors. There are over 5,000 sellers on Etsy alone for handmade invitations. On top of that, there are 13,000+ Etsy sellers who make custom, handmade party décor. How to compete with those numbers?
Mostly, you do it locally, but don’t neglect distance clients. Find your niche. Network with other busy moms and business executives. And brand your company better than anyone else. Then, carry through with sparkling creativity and excellence in customer relations.
Ali wants her Craft Your Party customers to feel as if they are entrusting the biggest and best days of their lives to the best person possible. From planning, designing and implementation, to contacting and keeping up with their vendors, Ali wants to ensure the event exceeds expectations.
I want to be their go to person when they find something they like on Pinterest but don’t think they can do it themselves or don’t have the time and create it for them.
Follow Ali’s Pinterest page, keep up with her on Instagram (that adorable Halloween invite is just a sample of things to come). Message her on Facebook for professional event planning, even if it’s only for trick-or-treat. And above all, have fun!
