Meet Stephanie, of Stephanie Ann Appraisals!
Tell us a bit about how you got started with your business / blog / venture that we branded.
Hello! My name is Stephanie and I’m the founder Stephanie Ann Appraisers, an independent, full-service appraising and consulting firm serving clients in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Washington, DC. I am a professional personal property appraiser who is dedicated to educating the public about the importance of valuation methodology and industry qualifications. My background and interest in appraising combine formal education and professional experience. After ten years working in museums and historic sites, I decided to apply my previous knowledge and experience in appraising personal property with a specialization in antiques, fine art, and historical ephemera.
What products or services do you offer?
As an accredited appraiser with the International Society of Appraisers, I combine my previous experience in the museum field with industry knowledge to provide a client-oriented approached to developing substantiated appraisal reports. My USPAP compliant appraisal reports are justified, holding up to legal scrutiny and IRS regulations. In my capacity as an appraiser, I’ve served individuals, corporations, government entities, universities, museums, historical societies, non-profits, and religious organizations.
What’s the best advice you have for someone that is interested in doing something similar to you?
I recently listened to Amy Porterfield’s podcast with guest Brooke Castillo (episode 217). Brooke said: “Discomfort is the currency to your dreams.” This statement really resonated with me because I think fear is what prevents many people from reaching their full potential, myself included. It’s okay to fail. Successful businesses have failed numerous times. The fact that they pick themselves up and carry on is what makes them successful.
Tell our readers a bit about the branding process!
Before I started working with Autumn Lane Paperie, I was super overwhelmed by the thought of creating a brand and logo. I knew that I liked specific colors and designs, but I wasn’t sure how to put them all together. Luckily, Lily provided four amazing proofs that I was able to combine into my perfect logo! It was difficult to pick my favorite aspects of these proofs and I thought about the designs a lot before I finalized my decision.
Finalizing the logos and collateral items elevated my confidence in my business and brand. I am excited to take my business to the next level with my newly designed logos!
What does the future hold for you?
I will continue refining my expertise in various types of personal property, including gems and jewelry. I will be attaining my Graduate Gemologist Diploma next year from the Gemological Institute of America.
