We’re excited to introduce you to Anna, of Tiny Tudor Cookies. Anna is insanely talented — these cookies look almost too beautiful to eat!
Tell us a bit about how you got started with your business / blog / venture that we branded.
I have always had a love for baking and being creative, I just never thought of combining the two – that is, until a friend brought me some beautifully decorated cookies when my son was born (3.5 years ago). From there, I was inspired to learn everything there was to know about Royal Icing and perfect cut-out sugar cookies! I spent hours on-line reading blogs and looking at cookie pictures! Not long after my first set of Royal Icing cookies, I began to get requests from friends/family to create cookies for their special occasions. This prompted me to name my little business, which took on the title: tiny tudor cookies (I live in a “tiny” Tudor style house in Virginia). Over the past two years, business has been booming!
What products or services do you offer?
I currently offer custom decorated sugar cookies and cookie decorating classes. I’m in the process of compiling cookie decorating videos as well – which I will upload to my YouTube site.
What’s the best advice you have for someone that is interested in doing something similar to you?
Take your time! Don’t rush things. Do a lot of research before making decisions. Figure out what you want from your business before you decide what to offer. Believe me, this will pay off in the long-run and prevent A LOT of unnecessary headaches. 🙂
Tell our readers a bit about the branding process!
I’m so pleased to have re-branded my business with Autumn Lane Paperie to create the “feel” and continuity that I longed for in my small business. I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into but after doing a lot of research, I felt that Autumn Lane Paperie was the way to go. They did not disappoint. I ordered the Basic Branding Package which included a logo design, two sub logo designs and five collateral items of my choice. I was presented with five proofs and from there was able to suggest changes to the designs until I reached something I was completely satisfied with. Lily from Autumn Lane listened keenly to all of my suggestions. At first I thought – how am I going to choose?! But then, the designs started taking on a feel of their own and it made it a lot easier to determine which “feel” was right for my business. Once my logo was agreed upon, the other items followed. It was really cool to see everything tie together. I feel like my new branding has already helped me to elevate my business. It is no longer a hodge-podge! I have business cards, stickers, thank you notes, email signature, etc. – all that match my logo and it creates professionalism for my products. I already feel more confident moving forward with my small business, thanks to Lily and her designs!
What does the future hold for you?
I’m still trying to figure out what the future holds for my small business. I currently have a full-time job as a special educator – so my small business is also my “side” business. In addition to my full-time job, I have two small children. It’s a balancing act that I’m still trying to figure out but I’m excited to see where it goes!
